Speaking of babies, I lost a wager at work and have to cook baby back ribs for someone.

Told her tomorrow's the day. I picked up 2 racks when I saw em on sale for $3/lb AND buy one get one free. They been waiting in the freezer for about a month now. I finally got the time.

A horrible nurse whose only qualification for working there is being a doctors wife had to float to another unit. I could write pages. Anyway, I was fully expecting a giant meltdown. We're not allowed to assign her anything busy or critical so floating to an insanely busy unit on a day shift is hell. I said she's going to lose it in the morning and I can't wait. When you float to these telemetry units, they give you the patients their own staff don't want to deal with, so it's always horrible.

One of the girls was trying to eat ribs from a BBQ place but they were tough and stuck to the bone said she paid $20 for a half slab, side, and soda. This place is supposed to be good, but that meat was still fully fused to the bone. She wound up throwing half the half rack away. I know competition bbq doesn't want fall off the bone ribs, but these were bad. Anyway, talking about how excited I was to see her meltdown in the morning, I told that nurse I would make her fall off the bone ribs if there's no meltdown. I was certain there would be. But there wasn't. She huffed and walked away and went to the other unit. So disappointed. Glad it happened though, she's "protected" so she'd never floated before because management or house supervisor has always stepped in. But manager on vacation and supervisor didn't give a chit as he was on his way out anyway, so she floated.

I didn't fully think the wager through as there was nothing on the other side, just the satisfaction of the meltdown.

Not complaining though, I get to do some of my favorite things - smoke meat and feed people.

Ribs are rubbed, rapped, and refrigerated. Wood chunks in a water bath, I think I'm as far as I can get tonight.

Now to try n sleep. Took a nap in the garage after dinner after eating 1.5lbs of fish and a few pieces of hearty French bread. And beer. Did 8 miles on the bike today before dinner, so I started off tired.

Last night tried to go to bed around midnight but wife complained I was making too much noise trying to find my phone charger cable so I went and played videogames till 0500 and slept till noon. Gotta be up early enough for the ribs so I think I'll just sleep in the garage or the basement.

Good Friday Morning! It's 75° on the way to 94° today. Thanks to the new TV and sound bar, I've got a ton of styrafoam packing blocks and cardboard to haul to the dump. After that I'll replace a leaking hose spigot and then roast some coffee.

It's mulching day today. Yesterday I put a good sized tarp on the cement and the dump truck dropped it off. We finally have the Italian kitchen finished and working well. Perfect timing, about 20 neighbors are coming over tomorrow to eat, drink, smoke, and play.

will be second, and likely the last.

Older daughter, has a seven year old now, having a boy this time, which has all kinds of significance attached...she's turning 40 end of August so she's probably done.
Other daughter says she will not have children, she's 35, lives with a great guy who seems to agree with her.

Have you used the term "geriatric pregnancy" with her yet? Sister in law had a baby last year... Anything over 35 they consider geriatric... she wasn't thrilled about that label... fun to say though... geriatric...

Did you give here a bottle of Geretol ?

Might also be fun to say - tho only old timers might remember it even tho it is still made.

Ribs on the smoker at 1030. Gonna wrap em with juice in a bit. Tried to fix old mower, steering fix needs more than the "steering repair kit" I bought.

Pressure washed old mower to list for sale. Washed boys go kart and new mower too. Pressure washed part of the house that was always covered by the camper so it never really got hit with rain. Lots of black algae like what grows on roofs.

Changed oil in wife's car and boys go kart. Need to do new mower soon. Manual says at 5 hours, im at 5.8. But I don't have a filter on hand. Maybe I'll do that after I wrap the ribs.

Very humid but not too hot. Still sweating buckets.

G'day people...

Congrats on the grandbaby, Frank. I'd love to be a grandpa.

Tank is knocked the eff out. Went crazy at the park with the other dogs, running, jumping, wrestling, then playing fetch with his kick ball with me. Then I took him to the do-it-ya-damn-self dog bath at Petco, and then we went to Total Wine and got some beers...

Just walked into a restaurant and sat down at my table. I’m not wearing a mask and nobody screamed at me. Haven’t done this without a mask for 15 months.

Is it legal to serve miners there? Or Tank can't hold his booze, he rather snooze.

Oil changed in new mower. Good thing I did, there wasn't much oil in there...

I dont think it was from consumption, probably underfilled by the store. Its full now, with fresh filter and good oil.

Took pictures and listed old mower for sale. I don't think the hour meter works, it's reading only 350 hours. I've had it for 10 years. Maybe it's true, but seems awfully low.

Tried to install the steering repair kit, but I gave up after sweating my ass off in the garage for a while. I dont think that part is the whole problem. It needs spindles, tie rods, front wheel bearings, and the repair kit. Wheels are straight when trailing in reverse, but they toe out when moving forward.

Hopefully someone wants a project.

In dog years, he's old enough... Anxious

Truthfully... he doesn't like beer. He sniffed it before and turned away. He really dislikes whiskey.

I had a couple small snifters of Elijah Craig while smoking a Quintero Robusto from DED's contest on the back porch wit da pup at my feet. Listening to Ozzy's Boneyard and their tribute to F.U.C.K this weekend... it's 30 years old, man.

I'm LIT.

Drinking all day smoking ribs. Then wife made cocktails after dinner to watch some TV together.

I got up from the couch and said what the fuuuuck...

Wife went to bed, now I gotta figure this out. Need to be up before 10 to go mini golfing with the boy. Guess a phone alarm should be sufficient. But should I sleep in the garage or the basement... garage requires no blankets. Basement is under 60 degrees.

Packing took too long. Road tripping got a little sidetracked at points. On the down side, we arrived too late to hit the liquor store. On the plus side, I found a leftover beer in the fridge

When we moved from a trailer to a house with a basement, we spent much of the summers in

Can’t imagine a Cali summer without ac. Still recall miserable days in that trailer. Living in a metal box for a series of 90 days was unpleasant.

Before AC we only had a swamp cooler in one window that worked if you were in that room and the RH was below 50. Phoenix temps got just as hot as now but the nights cooled off much more due to desert and no heat island. I remember sleeping with wet sheets over open windows sometimes. Miserable.

Fans of all sorts, manual and electric. My Pop grew up in the humidity of Texas, he said they used something called a, "Dutch Wife", a pillow between your legs so they didn't sweat as much. We spent three weeks with my Aunt in San Antonio in the summer, with no AC, it was miserable.

Stay hydrated.
