Got an amazing surprise today when I went to pick up my truck. Bill was $100. The deductible for warranty.

Service manager appealed and submitted the tickets from the other dealership visits when I brought it in for coolant smell and leak and all they did was top it off and pressure test. They decided to cover it.

Excellent!

We call that June. Supposed to be 117 today (and every day this week) and I just finished a round of golf. Really pretty nice on the course in the morning but it did get to 101 by the time we finished.

I know, I know... I just hoped the 115+ stuff would hold off until July.

My buddy Art just dropped off the collar and belly from the yellowtail he caught. I know what I'm eating... like, as soon as I finish grilling it right now.

June is the hottest month because the RH is so low. The monsoon starts by early July and the RH goes up but the temps usually come down.

Anybody have experience with leaf cutter bees? We have an outdoor carpet over part of the patio and I noticed a greenish bee going in the joint between the cement and the carpet. Pulled the carpet back and found the little bugger had built a nursery about 14 inches long under it. Looks like a rolled up candela.

Great news danm! Now you will keep it?

I told the dude I could hug him. I was so happy.

Yeah DED I think ill hang on to it since I'm not out any money and see how it goes in the next few months. This was the likely culprit of my no heat in winter and tiny coolant leak all along.

I'm not keeping it past warranty (2024 or 100k) but I'm not gonna dump without replacement truck just yet.

I may have to just bring it to that dealer 120 miles away for future service. I was really happy with them. The others around here, not so much.

Frying up some catfish. Lady at the meat counter accidentally gave me fillets instead of nuggets (double the price) and I didn't notice till checkout. I bought em, but I also went back and got 2lbs of nuggets to fry. The fillets will get blackened and grilled tomorrow.

Nothing like the Honda dealership doing the work here, even if it's just an oil change and tire rotation. In and out in 45 minutes with my alignment checked, software updated and a free car wash down the street at the best carwash I have ever been to. But it's more expensive...

I'm still blown away by them. I need to get on Google reviews and leave a bit of praise.

My uncle was service manager at the largest local GM dealership in the area for like 30 years. I'd bring him the **** I couldn't figure out. He'd find a guy to take a side job or a guy that knew the problem and take care of it. When I bought my last truck, a Chevy 2500, the salesman told me we can take off $500 from the price to decline the bumper to bumper 3 month warranty. I said "I'll find $500 in there". It was much more than that but he took care of me.

If id brought it to a stranger, I'd be strung along until the warranty expired. Anyway, he retired and my dad and I both have been feeling screwed by the dealerships for service. This is what everybody's else has to deal with. I got used to that kind of service, and without an "in" it's not happening.

But this dealership did just that for me. I'm absolutely blown away. They didn't have any incentive to step up for me. I'm too far away to be a customer, ive never been there before, im not rich or famous, and I know nobody there. I'm so very thankful.

We don't have any good Honda dealership around here, and I'm a Honda guy. Thankfully I have an extensive network of Honda guys and don't need to rely on the dealers except for parts for the Wife's car.

about 10 years ago, mother in law bought my wife and I a furniture set and bed frame for our bedroom... it's queen sized... it's an expensive hardwood set that never fit our lifestyle and is far too space consuming for our size bedroom...

Upgraded to a cheap, low profile king that has a smaller footprint than the elaborate queen sized we've been using...

Got the frame assembled and the memory foam mattress (also economically priced) airing out and expanding...

After all that cheap living I felt like pretending to be fancy so I made French crullers with vanilla icing, chocolate frosting, and powder sugar... I thought they were too eggy but my mom and wife ate a half dozen between the two of them... they're fairly picky about desserts so I guess they turned out pretty good...

Is it just me or does anyone else read this in Grampa Simpson's voice as he tells a rambling story that goes nowhere?

66 degrees headed to 93... which probably means 98.

A/C has been humming quite a bit. Got the house fan on now and the inside temp went from 75 to 71 real quick.

gotta go do the pool maintenance chores...SIL's mom invited her other grandkids over for a pool party/swim, so my daughter thought it would be cool to take her girls out of pre-school after half day today, so they could join in the play/swim with their cousins...guess who will be in the pool with them?

should be fun...but somebody has to skim the pool, swab the decks and put out the pool toys...and put juice and water in the outdoor fridge....93F now and heading to 100+

hope this doesn't read too whiny...

Current temperature = God awful hot. I've had to put my ice water in a thermos to keep it cold.

Dog usually wants to go out and play. Took him to the park this morning from 0800-0930 and he was DONE. Currently knocked the f--k out on the floor.
