Hope you get better soon, Brother!
I despise having to live on this mess as well as a handful of other meds!!!
Until the failed cervical fusion in Dec. 2011, if I took just one flexeril, I would be "drunk" for two days or more! After the surgery, I've had a spasm from the back of my neck to a group of muscles that run under my left shoulder blade all the time. I should've sued that surgeon, but he left TN to ruin folks in Texas, plus, I would rather leave him with a similar pain as mine instead of getting a little of his money, GRRRR!
My regular doctor witnessed me having spasms during a regular visit and immediately said "What did I just see?!?! You can't be dealing with that constantly!" So, he added the flexeril to keep me from looking like I have Tourettes.
Now, I take 3-10's per day and if I try to cut back by just one, I have spasms and pain that takes a few days to resolve. I think that idiot gave me either robaxin or xanaflex after surgery for the spasms and I took it for around a month, and I wasn't even close to my normal of "not being right" LOL. It's now on my "Do NOT Fly" list, as well as morphine. If you notice my join date on here, I was on that crazy stuff and that's the only reason I joined, weak minded move, hehe. I would've normally NEVER joined a forum group, just not normally my style or "thing". Now, I'm ruined for life!!!! Ya buncha chuckleheads!!
When I get a bad catch in my lower back, I have to take a round of either corticosteroids or a combination of something like stronger pain meds to get me through the bad stretch. That stuff makes me CRAZIER, and I really don't do well on cortisone AT ALL. Actually, just a worse than normal stretch. I despise taking ALL the pain meds and unfortunately, I will be stuck on this mess for life, which I'm sure, is being shortened by them as well. Even though flexeril is normally a short term med, as well as not being a good combo with diazepam, I'm on a regular diet of that as well as the max daily dose of Hydrocodone! I refused stronger meds many years ago. Regular Dr tried me on the lowest dose of MS-Contin time release and after just three doses, I called his office and told him I couldn't handle that stiff either!! That was around 2009, when I was still flying all over the Country with the big buying group.
Add in the scarring of my lungs from two rounds of blood clots and that put me on three other meds to try and help with my lung function and allergy issues. I accused my Dr. of just trying to get me on steroids of ANY type just because he knows how bad my lower back has been since I first started seeing him in 2006! He took one look at the MRI back then and asked how I was even able to get around without any pain medicine. Not easily, was my response, but as usual, I told him that it was still a good day above ground as opposed to the other option.
Just another day in the life of!!
G'day to all and Don't be bad!
