i still think you should axe the whole picture approval process and let people just imbed images. Make the rules clear and ban people who violate. I'm on several forums where i haven't seen a nude pic pop up in months, and some even years. Every once in a blue moon you get a **** who does it just to do it, and it gets flagged so quickly.

Bingo.

But, it wouldn't hurt anything to leave the picture post & approval process though as there is always someone who would rather have their images hosted on the site rather than go and get an account at an image hosting service or use their ISP home directory and copy link code. The fact that most people will use the IMG link code will cut back on the picture post labor anyway.

the forums is running considerably faster right now compared to this morning. probably about 5x faster. i'm glad because earlier i was worried the new format was too much for the servers or whatever.

please give a profile option to disable showing avitars and imbedded images for those who don't want to see them, esp phone users not having to wait for images to load, or people like me who don't care to see a girl in a bikini every 2 seconds.

I use Opera Mini on my BB and the site works fine. It isn't optimized for the BB, but I can read everything and navigate it just fine.

It simply will not magnify big enough read without a supplemental magnifying glass, and the buttons are too small to hit AT ALL. I have little hands, and I had to use the extreme corner of my pinky just to pull up the forum....forget about changing pages - it ain't gonna happen. I hate to think what bidding is like. I know a LOT of people bid from their smartphones...that simply is NOT possible anymore.

Forum requests are being looked over and compiled; we need to come to a consensus here on embedding images. For now, we have it disabled until we come up with a solution. While the forum is important we are trying to focus on bidding structure and the MY account pages. Please feel free to post issues that are a concern outside of the forum as well as in the forum. Look for a folder sometime tomorrow that gives a list of all fixed issues and those that are pending. From there we can attack all remaining issues. Thanks all.

I can't make the Search function work. That is as annoying as a jpotts post.

Getting an error or is the dial just spinning, and spinning, and spinning???

Bryan, I was running into sporadic complete unresponsiveness with the cigar lots search earlier. Just "dial spinning and spinning" as you put it. I figured it was just being worked on. Either that or I just killed it by using boolean search modifiers.

Spins for 45 seconds and then says
"Notification
close
An error occurred while searching."

Same issue yesterday and today.

While searching auctions, an option to sort alphabetically as well would be nice. I like to browse through all lots alphabetically every couple days.

The responsiveness to the complaints and suggestions is awesome. Thanks for the hard work.

i'm sure i will be in the minority here...

but 1 of the BIG reasons other then the prices, that I used this site was its simplicity of use...

that is now gone..it now looks and feels like all the other sites I've avioded in the past....

Can I turn off the Buddy List thing? I keep getting prompts every time I go to a thread that say I have x-amount of pending Buddy Requests. I don't want the requests and I certainly don't want to see the prompts for requests every time I click a new thread.

Also, can you stop the endless "Buddy Crap" popping up just about every minute?

My "Buddies" would be this much of a pain in the ascot.

Why is it that everytime something works well, someone has to improve it and screw it up? This site is cluttered, difficult to navigate, and slow.

Once you're on the thread, where's the tag that tells total number of posts for that thread?

Quick Buys...
On the old system, when there was a Quick Buy option on a lot, you could hover over the question mark in the circle next to Quick Buy and it would have a pop-up in a hover box that would indicate if the quick buy did or did not deduct from the total number of lots available for that particular auction. I can't seem to find any place where that information is indicated now. Or has that changed and QB is now revamped to work differently?

If the info is added back into the interface, I would recommend not using a hover box and just making it plainly visible on the page, maybe under the QB button or in the yellow auction info area to the top right. The question of if QB lots would affect the total number of lots was an oft seen question on the old interface simply because people didn't know to hover over the question mark.

--
Here are some examples of how QB is confusing in this new format

http://www.cigarbid.com/.../951876/ACID-Kuba-Kuba/
3 lots available for auction, but 8 QBs on the pull down and 2 QBs already sold. Do the QBs for this auction not affect the total and you can buy a maximum of 8 or is there a limited number of QBs, in this case 10, and two of them have been sold already?

http://www.cigarbid.com/...-Star-Sampler-5-Cigars/
4 lots avail for auction, only 3 QBs on the pulldown.

It's going to take some time to get used to this. I am one of those who liked the speed, efficiency, and simplicity of the old site.

Can you put your local date and time back at the top of the auction pages?

Can you put the date and time back in for when the auctions close rather than the amount of hours and minutes until closing?

******HIGHLY suggest to all that have changed addresses or credit cards in last year to check EVERYTHING in your personal settings, addressess, billing, etc.!!!!!!

I've changed addresses and credit cards 2-3 times this year and my shipping, billing, contact info was TOTALLY hosed up! There was a mess of street addresses, cities and states combined into at least three different incorrect combinations -- none of which reflected current correct address. Old credit cards, wrong billing addresses, as well has messed up shipping address. Not easy to correct, either. There are a number of different places to enter/change addresses and every one of them had to be accessed and changed. I think I've got it now, but it would have been very painful if I'd gotten to a billing day/date without having noticed the problems.

I have been using the "classic" view for it's SOMEWHAT lower annoyance factor, but I have noticed that many times the posts in classic view are listed out of order....

Can we get a "Keep Me Logged In" feature? If I walk away from my desk for any length of time, I have to relog. Gets kind of annoying.

Granted, was the same with the old site....

It may be nice to have a feature like that, but if you walk away from your computer (or forget to log out) and someone hops on and places bids under your account, guess who's held responsible for that!

When you think about it that way, it makes sense why we don't have a feature like this.

That's because there's a setting in your browser tools, internet options, that allows usernames and passwords to be saved. You'll have to delete the saved information, exit the browser, pull up our site again. It shouldn't auto populate for you with the old info.

I guess that might be the case with some, but my computer at work is accessible only with my ID Card (has a computer chip on it) with a logon code and my computer at home is mine and mine alone. I've got every other Forum that I frequent on the auto-login and that's why I asked as an option. It'd be up to the user to determine if it's right for their individual purpose or not.

every time i log in I get this message:

Your account has been consolidated because the email address ********* was used across multiple accounts. Please choose which username you wish to use. (This is for forum display only)

how many times do I have to select the user name I want to use?

Suggestion:

Expand the "Active Discussions" window on the main Forum page to list say 20 or so threads and include the name of the person who started the thread and the name of the user w/ most recent post, while keeping the display to one line, and if there is room, identify which board/category the post is in.

would kind of have the feel of the old site. Navigating through the boards/categories is a PITA.

looks like you guys already implemented the increased results per page option. Awesome!!! Can you please include a sort by: alphabetically or an A to Z option.

I like jojoc's idea about showing 20, but i would suggest instead to add a New Posts or Today's Posts feature which would probably show up somewhere next to the my profile, search, forum rules and conditions area. Clicking it will show all threads of all categories listed by most recent post. That way you can browse all threads without having to go back and forth between the different forum categories.

Looks like you guys are working hard and everything and its much appreciated!

I grow weary of having to continually login - especially when I'm trying to watch the Free Fall and miss my price because I have to stop and login.

Are we slowing things down by staying logged in all day???

interesting. I have only logged in once today, but have closed the cbid tab in my browser several times. When I open a new tab and come back to CBID I am still logged in. However, IF I close Firefox, I do have to log back in, but it was that way under the old system as well.

Jojoc: It only happens when I'm on the bidding portion. If I stay in the forums then I'm good. I've logged in 3 times today (I think) while in Free Fall.
