I know what that means!

So you gonna start with fort building and ease into the more physical stuff or are you gonna jump right into the somersault and back flop contests?

Probably too late for rfenst to see this, but on the back flop contest, it's imperative you keep your knees tucked below your chin on the initial bounce...

The last thing you want is to go all in, forget the basics, and next thing you know you've got a sliced open knee and 2 front teeth on the ground...

LOL. I was ignoring this one as I don't really do sportsball. Then by brain goes, "hey, where did the "500" thread go?"

AHA!

Evening Ram, and everyone else.

Good morning to you
Good morning to you
We're all in our places
With bright shiny faces . . .

October 2nd and we're looking at temps in the low 90's, here in Ridley Park, PA.
Hopefully, it will be the last hoorah for my air conditioner this season.
Already sweatin' my ballz off at 10am, but that could be the 40oz of coffee I just drank in the past hour.

Meh.... we've got a client presenting some information at the conference. Would have been useful to be in attendance. Sigh. Dropped th ball on that one.

dayum MACS.............expected to attend a staff meeting on a day off seems excessive...should be paid OT and minimum call-out time if meeting is less than that...

It's paid as OT, but only for the amount of time we're actually there.

something for the union to put on the table, if that applies to all instances of call-backs on days off...

I'm not particularly a fan of unions.

Right now, if I take a vacation day, comp day or sick day in the same pay period... that OT would be converted to straight time. Our contract is through December of next year. We got hosed on that but, to be honest, I can't complain too loud... our pay and benefits is pretty good.

yikes...that's a tough one....

as management most of my career, I'm not a big union fan .... but without the LAPD's and other LEO's unions and PORAC, all of their legal efforts, there wouldn't be a Police Officers' Bill of Rights ( a model of which most states in the US have followed) and all of the legal protections that leo's and by association detention officers and campus leo's enjoy...as working conditions and salaries for leo's improved, so too did conditions and pay for leo supervisors and managers...

My issue with unions is all my guys make more than I do. And every late night email or weekend phone call lowers my pay per work hour that much more. Still light years better than the last job though so shouldn't complain

So damn tired.

Couldn't sleep today. Fell asleep right away this morning but up at 11 and couldn't fall asleep again till about 4p, only to get an hour and a half before the alarm went off.

Oh well. Back to work.

Unusually up to pee in the middle of the night. Felt some thing in my mouth - broken tooth. Made a appointment for Friday morning to see the dentist before my Cape Cod trip. Off to get prescriptions and look for a barber. Found the only remaining barbershop with 15 miles of home and the barber is a woman again. Home for lunch and a bit of yard work until it started raining. Finished my cigar while feeding a chipmunk and then called it a day.
