3/5 of tonight's crew called off.

I wish they'd fire some of these jackholes. Call off and post pictures on Facebook poolside at a resort same day should be a termination offense.

Especially when it happens a few times a year.

But everywhere is so desperate for nurses, nobody will ever be fired. Unless of course you fail a piss test. Then you get fired. But not doing your job when you are there, and habitual patterned call offs means nothing.

When I came in last night, charge nurse handed me a tube of lube and said "you might need this"

It was a rough night. But nobody died on my watch. They won't live, but I keep em "alive" till 0745. Pulse and a paycheck. Press Gainey scores go down when a nurse tells the family they won't make it while the doctors say "we can do more". Sure, we can do more. ...but they won't make it. Been told it drives down satisfaction scores when we're not matching what the doctors say and we shouldn't do that.

I did use the lube to put a tube in someone's butthole. Full of crap

DanM, I hate the idea of being a vegetable in a bed, as does the rest of my family. We have orders put in place in case we are incapacitated to insure that such a thing does not happen. I, personally am a DNR. When I go, I don’t intend on being brought back, just my own personal preference on that matter.

I've said it before, I have DNR tattooed on my chest so the nurses will have zero confusion about what to do for me... Nothing heals the body like Donuts 'N Rest...

They decided to "cap" our bonus at work this year since we did so good, they say they have it to our sister companies that didn't do as good so we all get a bonus? 2nd year in a row they did that. So what's the incentive to do good if you are gonna give it to the ones who don't?? Ugh.

Honestly, I've never understood why people get so involved in the performance of a sports team they are not actually playing for, and are only associated to by geography. Their success or failure is in no way a reflection on the viewers at home (or really the viewers in the stadium, but there's likely some minor impact from noise).

But, people get wrapped up in it.
