Dropped a cookie on the floor. A hot gooey choc chip cookie. At it too. Delicious. But I have no clue now what I have eaten. I need a beer.

Morning.

It's supposed to be like 77F today with a cold front and rain blowing through.

Wife is headed out of town to visit our daughter in Boca Raton and to take her to a medical procedure on Monday.

I am feeling sad for myself because I am going to miss her, but I do have a 1mg syringe with 87% activated THC to fool around with after I am done with my errands and driving around today. =d>

Hope to be able to make tonight's v-herf.

Pretty much in the hibernation zone- minus the sleep part. Asleep at 11, awake at 4.
Both watching soccer and listening to the rhythm of the furnace running.
V-herf. Maybe.

Crisp 5 degrees this morning. Glad I put my gloves by the door so I wouldn't forget them ...they'll be ready for my frozen hands when I get home.

Will be 74 here today. Have a short road trip planned with the '65. 8track can watch the Phoenix Open on the tube to help him warm up.

I think I have all my tax records now and will be doing them soon. I try to keep as much as I can from the government for as long as possible without paying a penalty but I expect to owe about $2K each to feds and state.

Woke up at 0350 to let the pup take a whiz... figured since he was peeing, so would I. Then dozed briefly on the couch.

Coffee on.

I'm about done with taxes too. Still waiting for one of wife's 1099s. Gonna owe feds a little. Usually owe state a few hundred but I finally opened a 529 plan and get a tax credit of 20% on deposits. Only put 1k away but that brought me to a $30 refund instead of a $200 bill. Should've done that when the kid was born. I knew about it, even had a post it on my computer monitor the better part of a decade but just never did it

I am not good with money. I do some things right, but always late.

Back to work shortly, weather was supposed to be decent. Now it’s snowing in Nebraska and Northwest Missouri/south west Iowa 🤦🏻 I’m ready for winter to be over.

Welp... bad news on all fronts. My tax lady is also a money manager/financial advisor.

I owe the feds and Taxifornia. I knew I was going to, still blows... but when she files the return (can't until the 12th) there's an option to let both state and fed just withdraw the money from my account on April 15th, so I chose that option. Leave it there until the last minute, I guess... not that $4600 is gonna make any interest, but screw them.

In other news... she said the housing market is going to sh-t the bed this year, on par with 2008... and the stock market will follow suit. She suggests being conservative for the next 18 months, at least. d'oh!

Better sell and get out, rent until the crash then buy low.

she may be trying to sell you some financial planning advice by causing you some fear, MACS...

conditions in housing don't look much like just before the crash of the great recession when everybody was buying homes using fake money and prices were jumping through the roof...doesn't look like that kind of crash in the RE market any time soon...if anything we may see a small correction when/if low interest rates start going back up...

in CA supply has not kept up with demand, and some RE experts predict prices will go continue going up by at least 10% this year...houses for sale in our neighborhood sell in one-three months...I see housing developments popping up in the open spaces south of us along the 15, and in the hills to the west...hang on

not sure about a huge drop in the stock market either...last big dump was early last year, when the pandemic took hold ...it looks like the vaccines are getting off world wide, so there's hope that could signal the start of a world-wide economic recovery, not a drop...

Neither did she, aside from the fee to file my taxes. She doesn't manage my money, she just does my taxes. The tax business is hers... her financial advice is through another company she works for on the side.
