Yessir... got's candy.

Reese's PB cups, snickers, milky way, twix, M&M's and such. I live in da 'burbs, so I will get some decent traffic of costumed kiddos.

I have ton. Bought prolly $80 worth of variety packs. I'm not one to ration out what the kids want. Only rule is you can only take as much as one hand can grab.

Worst case is I have leftovers and have to eat Snickers and Reeses for a week. Whopper, suck... I hope I don't have leftover Whoppers.

If I was a responsible adult... I'd hand out dental floss, toothpaste, and pencils but I'm not responsible nor claim to be an adult.

Dump the Whoppers first.

I'd say about 3 dozen kids. Sitting outside tried to smoke a Man 'O War but it kept going out, a bit on the wet side and 100% humidity with some sprinkles from the clouds didn't help.

Good news, I'm Whopper free.

Gave out of about 3 gallons of candy which leaves me 1 gallon leftovers: Snickers, Reeces, KitKat, Hershey, Twix.

This weeks' homework is done, apple crisp in the oven... veg and watch Sunday Night football. Vikings vs Cowboys... To bad they both can't lose.

Pro Tip: Put out an empty bowl with a note. "Please, help yourself." The kids will think other kids just took all the candy.

I just leave out a case of razor blades.
They can shove em into their own candy.

Good Monday Morning! Weather about like yesterday. Headed to breakfast and bullets, meeting my shooting buddy for breakfast then a trip to the range. Later today I get my third jab of Moderna juice.

Second cup in hand just waiting for some sun to get out for the morning walk. Weather is going to be low 60s to low 80s all week which is just about ideal. My golf partners are all back in town from their summer hideouts so we will be starting up a weekly match again. Gym later this morning and a doc appointment this afternoon.

Coffee date with a former coworker.
Dogwalk in the breeze and spearmint mid 30s temp.
Cleaned, organized, vacuumed, gassed, windexed and washed the car.
Clipped some coupons.
Got the mail.
That’s enough for today.

Slow down, there, turbo!

What ya gonna do for the rest of the week?

Coffee, dog walk, bacon and eggs. I cleaned the kitchen after I was done cooking and took a shower.

Dog is already napping. I should probably do the same, eh?

Yeah, got to watch the exertion level.
One day at a time. 20 minute nap accomplished. Settling in for Wolverhampton v. Everton.

Grocery shopping done... NY strip steak, med rare and baked tatter is currently digesting. Brain says it's time for a cat nap then maybe some homework. Kinda agree with the Brain on the first part, the latter is up for debate.

I've been able to master short cat naps. 30 min to recharge the batteries. Sounds kinda weird but I can do a sort of a meditation state where I'm not actually sleeping but not actually awake either... in the gray zone of sleep and awake.

Reminds me of some lyrics from this song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb0-BoYCvG4

"That moment of sleep
When you think you're awake
That threshold of pain
You know you can take."

When I do go into a deep sleep, a tornado spin down the street and I'd probably not notice.

One thing I did realize was when my kids were little. I could be in a deep sleep with earth shattering thunderstorms passing by with no reaction but any peep out of the kids from the baby monitor, I snapped awake.

Funny how the brain works... While it's recharging it would ignore regular stuff deemed not important but any peep from the kids or odd noise in the house it would snap me into awake mode.

The human body, with all its workings, is the most complicated and the most amazing thing ever invented. It even comes with a free belly button.

I've promoted this series before but I think it worth another ping. Super interesting.

https://www.pbs.org/show/brain-david-eagleman/

It's a 6 episode series available on PBS streaming or Prime streaming.

I’ve always thought a nap should last as long as you’re asleep,
And end when you wake up.

But what the hell do I know…

When I was a teenager I would sleep so deep that when woken it would literally take me a few minutes to come out of the fog and make sense of anything.

Now... dog gets up and shakes, by the time I hear the click of his nails on the wood floor I'm already up. He has to pee and I gotta let him out.

Chex mix snacky food in the oven. Love me some Chex mix.

Rice chex, corn chex, wheat chex, mixed nuts, Chreerios, mini pretzels, 3/4 stick of butter and the seasoning packet (Free for the taking Wlamart, the season packets are near the Chex cereal, probably in "action alley" the main aisle when you walk in.

Sadly, I didn't have those garlic, rye, bagel chip thingies... maybe next batch.

Up and atom. Doc says I'm good to go now on the 2nd shingles shot, flu shot and the covid booster. One at a time was his recommendation so if there is any adverse reaction it can be identified. He says I kicked the West Nile quicker and more completely than any of his patients even though some are younger. I was hoping that I now have immunity but he thinks that the literature shows it may only last for 90 days or so.

Well, it's been about 36 hours since my little road dog home-skillet ate baseball leather. He's been droppin' deuces like normal. I'm hoping that means he digested it. Haven't seen any remnants of it in his poop, but he's dropping them like their hot. They are steaming, but prolly cuz it's cold and stuff... Mellow

Good Tuesday Morning! It's 51° on the way to 74° and I'm going back to the range today.

Got the Moderna COVID third booster yesterday, no ill effects so far, same for the standard flu shot I got last week.

I finally know someone that spent time in the hospital with COVID-19. I'm pretty sure I know how he caught the COVID. He is one of those folks that wants to get right up in your face just to have a friendly conversation. Having worked with a lot of people from the Middle East I'm used to putting things between myself and others to keep them outta my personal space, but this guy cannot take a hint, fucking old people! He's one year different from my age. :-"

We’ll score this as a successful recovery from the west Nile variant of Covid-19.
