Saw a flag at half mast in front of a local high school. Turned on the radio.

Aaron Rodgers has Covid.

Wisconsin has surrendered to Minnesota.

And Canada.

It was simply too much for the Greed & Gold to bare. Or Chicago, bare/bear.

Rodgers has covid?

Awww, man... poor Green Bay fans. Sorry for your loss.

Oh, wait... he has a 99% chance of surviving it! You might be okay!

Speaking of, and yes I realize how odd that sounds minus a camping reference, saw the doc recently for physical/general checkup. He tells me that they've changed colonoscopy recommendation to 45 and older

I respond, yay.

He comes back with, "That's right! You're not going to be a virgin anymore!"

I'd have been offended, but that was pretty dam funny

happy birthday, Gene!

after I logged off yesterday, started to feel body aches and chills, so the Moderna booster side effects kicked in about 24 hours after the shot...sluggish all day...didn't feel like a cigar or watching the Lakers game...went to bed early...slept about 10 hours....all is fine today

Other than a sore arm I was doing well up until this evening, about 24 hours from the shot. Started with needing a nap which isn't uncommon on a regular day but it lasted 4 hours. Then woke up with a headache and muscle aches.

Was gonna work for double time and a half tonight but the wife decided to go out to a bar and leave me home with the boy. Missing out on $600+ so she can find a booty call or whatever she doing.

Ouch! Your missed a double-and-a-half-time shift for $600 because last night she only thinks about going out to a bar without you (for whatever reason)? The longer you wait, the more it is going to cost you both financially and emotionally.

Got frustrated with the E-bike conversion that I was trying to do. Originally bought parts piece meal to convert my pedal bike to and E-bike. Some parts didn't fit on the pedal bike as envisioned and required some modification to fit on the frame. It was not a smooth modification. I punted on that project and it's too late to return the parts especially after doing some hack saw mods to try to make it fit. Gonna tear it back down into a pedal bike.

So I bought a full up e-bike that was delivered yesterday. 350W motor, 36 V,10.4 AH battery. Easy peasy set up and it's ready to go. Unpacked it. Just had to install the handle bars, the front wheel, the pedals, and the head light. Super simple assembly. It's got a governor on it limiting it to about 20 mph under full electric, which I'd like to override (project for a different day) but state laws say they can't go faster than 20 mph under full electric power.

I was hoping I could use my other battery pack as a 2nd source but they use different connectors on the battery mounting plates. I didn't realize that there were multiple "standard" connections versions (https://www.ebay.com/itm/174797842768). Newbie mistake but in hindsight it shouldn't be much of a surprise either.

Well, I have an extra 48 V/13 AH rechargeable battery with a USB connector as an accessory left over from the retrofit attempt. I guess I could use to charge some cell phones if I ever go hiking to Mt Everest or sumptin.... or use it in the van down by the river.

I'll give the new contraption a test run around the block his morning. Prolly have to tune in the cables on the derailleurs and brakes a bit but we'll see after the inaugural test spin.

Get a DNA test on the inside of the panties and then contact rfenst.
Or, skip the middle step and just send rfenst her panties direct.

There is some exciting news. Test ride results pending, good for you.
Don’t understand the reason for MA’s ruling on a 20 mph rule.
Likely some combo of corruption and nanny statism, I would imagine.

Test drive went well, only maybe a mile ride. Couple loops around some residential blocks. There a block nearby that has a pretty steep hill. Gravity will take you easily to 35 mph just coasting down. The electric motor cuts out (on my particular bike) around 19.8 mpg per the speedometer that's tied into the motor. I can then use peddle power to go faster if I want.

Going up the incline on the Washington Street hill it was limping and required some human power but it went smooth at a slow pace. Washington street in my town, by eye, looks like a 30° incline. It would be a perfect sledding hill in the winter. I have no idea how people living on that street can handle the winter. This would be a hill I'd normally avoid even on feet. If I had to bike up it, I'd get off the bike and walk it. Going down it, brake early because at the bottom you hit Cross St and after you miss the stop sign, you hit a wrought iron fence.

The 20 mph rule, I think, applies to most states. After that I think the vehicle needs to be registered as a motor vehicle. I remember a roommate in college that had a Honda Spree. Did may a beer runs on those Sprees. With a few bungie cords and a backpack you could come back with case of beer and a couple bottles hard stuff that you'd end up puking out later. A lot of students had Sprees in the 90's. I think it pegged out around 35 mph but it had to have a license plate and pay registration fees and all that crap as a road vehicle.

Good Thursday Morning! It's an overcst 51° on the way to just 55° today. I hope to get some coffee roasted and not much else

Modena booster shot day 3, I still have a two egg sized red lump. Maybe a few extra aches and stiffness, but if I'm not feeling those things I figure I'm probbly dead.

So I'm flipping through one of the cigar catalogs I've mysteriously found myself on the mailing list for. I'm sure it had nothing to do with several years of rampant impulse control issues.

Anywho

I found that Montecristo, RyJ, H. Upmann, and Gispert all have a new blend named Grand Exhibition with near identical labels excepting the company name on it. Methinks Altadis is getting a wee bit lazy in the naming department

^Methinks if you're smoking their cigars, ya get what ya got coming.

Sorry... been a Havana elitist for many years. I find most non Cuban offerings to be severely lacking. Very few exceptions, but they're not Altadis lazyasses, either.

YMMV

Same here. Not many leaves have fallen yet, but I'm scraping ice off my windows. Dug up the carrots just in time. They can handle frost, but not freeze, and we're into mid 20s now overnight.

I gave up on collecting and burning leaves years ago. Used to run a tow-behind sweeper, then upgraded to a Trac-Vac with a stick chipper on it. Sold the vac, now I just mow the leaves.

I think my final grass cutting is done, but gonna be mowing leaves well past first snow.

Pork butt almost done. Just hit 195, but there's still a bit of resistance when I probe the butt. Letting the temp run away a bit, was holding 230-245 since 9am. Now its around 275. Should be done by midnight.

New Call of Duty out tonight. Gonna stay up a while to play that. Got an after dinner nap in, so I'm good for a while. I played it some already by changing my VPN to Australia but that meant high ping and lag issues. Still got a taste and got stuff unlocked to make things easier when it's officially live here.

If I don't gather leaves late fall or early spring, they're thick enough to choke out the grass. I compost usually. Firemen told me no more burning for me unless I felt like shelling out cash to the county

Perks of living outside town/city limits. Technically open burn is illegal, but it's only enforced if the fire dept has to put it out.

I know most of the local firefighters, the station is 5 houses west, the chief is across the street, 3 of the 5 houses between me and the station are firefighters/emts and I'm registered with them for FEMA disaster duty so I gotta meet up about once a year for paperwork n stuff.

My chopped/mowed leaves do choke the grass in the back, but I don't care about that. I only care about the area around the house that would be a normal suburban yard. Beyond that it's a go kart track anyway.

I sure could go for a hunk of pork butt right about now. I'd even welcome leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Kids at work were talking about the new vid games coming out (funny how they are all timed for release around the Christmas season, probably just a coincidence). I'm an old fart, I'm not really into video games so most of the talk just flies over my head.

I fought off the urge to impulse buy on the 55" TV on Walmart's first seasonal event. I can't logically justify it. But I could logically justify dropping $500 on an entry level E-bike after my failed attempt to try to convert my pedal bike to and e-bike ($500 in components washed down the tubes).

So I guess I'm illogical on my logic.

I am outside city limits. Pretty sure one of the neighbors is a dirty snitch though.

Prolly didn't help that I aimed the leaf blower at the fire to accelerate the process. There was decently thick smoke covering a good chunk of the surrounding properties.

Nobody appreciates ingenuity anymore. *sigh*

71/68 with 100% chance of rain ahead of a cold front coming. Going to head out to the pool- if it's open right now to avoid lightening closure later today when we expect thunderstorms. Gonna be real cold when I get out due to constant 10mph breeze.

After that, I will probably lay about and then take my son to meet my buddy Jeff for dinner at an absolutely phenomenal , reasonably priced Greek Restaurant or something else...

Beautiful 60 sunny morning when I went for a 5 miler. Stopped at a couple of garage sales on the way. Headed out to tour the historic Mormon temple in Mesa. They normally do not allow us heathens inside but are making an exception right now. I really have no interest but the wife corralled me into going with her by saying she goes to car shows with me.

Contractor came over for a conversation and rough estimate of what options are available and rough pricing for a kitchen remodel. Sickamp;

We can remodel it the way my wife prefers... or.... enjoy 20, 5 day vacations somewhere warm in winter.

That said, the majority of the nut is coming out of her pocket, so I'll go along for whatever finantioal ride she suggests (I used a different marriage adviser than Danm used).

God I hate getting into and out of the pool in the rain. The drops and breeze were cold. Did 1,700yds. again today. That's 6,200yds. (3.5 miles) for the week with two days left.

Son and I are heading out to the beach to visit my buddy Jeff. 100% chance of rain so any walk on the beech will be wet. Play some ping-pong and bocce ball, then get dinner from our favorite Greek place.

And, then it's the weekend!
