It was chilly on the patio this fine evening, and I was too lazy to french press a proper cup of decaf before retiring outside to smoke a cigar... Lesson learned.

Herro...

45 degrees to start the day. Damn near feels like that in the house! I don't think I turned on the heater. It'll be 76 later, though... so do I turn it on or just wait? Think

78/66 today with very heavy cloud cover and rain late this afternoon through the night. There is a cold front that won't reduce our temperatures but will drop the humidity to bearable levels.

Just finished swimming. Cut back on my work out to see if that has been causing my increased neck pain over the last 10 days or so. Can't tell yet, but I am having two real good days so far! On the other hand, it could be the changes in weather we have had...

Anyhow, my cousin is vacationing at a resort about an hour from here and my mother and I are going to visit her. We don't really like her all that much, but it will still be nice to see her again... but just for 30 minutes.Herfing

Just saw news that a deputy sheriff at my old agency in Tucson was found in his patrol car with a gunshot wound to the head... Praying for him. The sheriff is not releasing any other info. Sad day.

The selfish part of me hopes I don't recognize the name when it's released.

Finally off from work.

It's been really, really bad. I pretty much just go home to sleep and back in. More staff left, mandatory overtime, blah blah. I think I did 120 hours in 8 days. Fitbot reading 20-25k steps/night every night. I'm usually 8-12. I'm BEAT.

Looks like another local hospital is closing, which makes 4 100+bed hospitals within 20 miles of mine that closed in the last 2 years. No end in sight.

Good Friday Morning, it's 46° on the way to 64° today. The wife and her bestie are commencing the Christmas decor conversion today. Ugh, about a dozen plus storage tubs are already staged in the living and dinning rooms.

Don’t know if it is JoeyB or not, but it certainly is the trend.

Very Animal Farm. The horse will simply work harder until it is time for the glue factory.

Thanks DED, unfortunately it wasn't (that test was last week). This was the MOS procedure to remove it.

I owe my barber a good cigar. Last time I got my haircut, he used a mirror to show me the back of my hair and that was when I saw the spot on the back of my neck. Never would have seen it otherwise.

Three dudes caught poaching in the twin next door. Gonna be a sucky Thanksgiving for them.

"The Massachusetts Environmental Police received information regarding the possible illegal killing of deer in the Templeton/Phillipston area. On the night of Thursday, November 11, 2021, Officers patrolling the region of inquiry observed a vehicle using a spotlight to search area. Upon locating a decoy deer, an individual within the vehicle shot the decoy with a crossbow. Realizing it was a decoy, the vehicle attempted to flee but was subsequently stopped by Officers. Officers then observed deer legs within the truck bed in plain view.

Three individuals in the vehicle, including the operator, were arrested. Through the interview process, it was reported that additional deer had been taken illegally. The crossbow was seized, the vehicle was impounded, and illegally taken deer meat was surrendered.

The individuals were arraigned at Gardner/Winchendon District Court on Monday, November 15, 2021 on charges, to include:

- Discharge of Crossbow w/in 150’ of roadway
- Illegal Hunting w/Crossbow
- Hunting w/Aid of Motor Vehicle
- Hunting w/an Artificial Light
- Hunting After Hours
- Tagging Violation
- Hunting Public Land w/out Permit

Additional charges, including violations from another state, are forthcoming."

Brought the truck back to the dealership for the whole no heat thing. Fourth visit for no heat in a year, kept getting told nothings wrong. Had a thermometer in the vent for the 30 minute drive, it got up to 45F. 28F outside. Last time I did that it was 55 with 30 ambient and they said that was sufficiently warm. Told service writer I wanted the vent temp and ambient temp logged on the ticket. If they tell me it's fine I'm gonna go through the chain of command with corporate.

Got a call back just now. "That trucks all messed up". I said yeah, I keep taking it in because it's a POS.

Radiator is half plugged. Heater core mostly plugged. Water pump bad. Idler pulley bad, blend doors broken, recirc actuator bad. 15 months od telling them that, and being told everything's fine...

Aftermarket warranty company sending out an inspector before they'll approve repairs.

At least they finally either truly looked at the truck, or got a competent tech on it.

Finally, Danm!! You likely got an honest, intelligent tech to look at the truck.

I'm really hoping that they get it all addressed, and you have many long years with the truck working as it should. Pray

My hope is the same. I really love this truck when it works...

I figured out the transmission issue myself with some googling. Had a corroded and loose ground wire.

Coolant/heating system is really the only persistent issue right now. If they do it right, that should be done.

^ Yeah, I really like my truck. I've only got 14,500 miles on it in 18 months. A lot of that was a round trip to NorCal and a round trip to Baja, MX.

Towed my buddies boat like a champ the one time I did it.

+1

A good, trustworthy mechanic is hard to find these days! Then again, it's hard to find anything / anybody that's good and trustworthy in many other fields.

Wonder if you can specify him (...or her...) to work on your truck next time you schedule an appointment? Think Might be worth the extra charge if you can.
