We finally got our estimated tax overpayment refund last month on the 31st. Our accountant had been bugging the IRS since April. Initially they said it would be 6 to 8 weeks and they would direct deposit the payment. In July they said they were still working on it. September’s response was that they were shorthanded and would get to it when they could. When the check arrived (…what happened to the direct deposit?…), we noticed a slightly different figure. Apparently they added $83-ish of interest. The additional money was cool but we would have preferred a timely payment instead.

I was just thinking Ram should get interest and/or late fees. I am surprised they actually would without being prompted by some griping

Right back at you brother.

I'm surprised the refunds took so long as ours came within three weeks of filing. Were they audited or filed with an extension?

Received a letter from IRS stating error and filing and they adjusted refund okay no problem, waited months and nothing called them and some dipstick told me to file a 1040X, I said are you sure letter states take no action, oh you should have received another letter ? No I didn't what was it for??? Oh I can.t tell you !?! Basturd. So waited and filed 1040X in May. Like Palama kept calling and was given the same story. Opposite happen told me would have the refund with check, finally was able to talk with someone in December and she said she would release and have deposited in DIRECT DEPOSIT !!! d'oh!

26 now going all the way up to 40 today. Some snow and maybe ice on the deck. I'll be on the road (hopefully) in an hour taking the Mrs, to a doctor's appointment. I get to go myself tomorrow and may get to meet my new lady doctor and say goodbye to the retiring guy.

Been meaning to take the Glock 17 to the indoor range near me for some time. I bought a brick of 1000 rounds and have only used 200 or so. Wife does not like it cuz she is a lefty and it ejects shells at her noggin. Need to get her something simple that she will like. Any ideas?

DED, I have shot ~10K+ rounds through a G17 (right and left and both handed) and don't recall getting brass in my face. If you are going to the range already, might be worth renting her any different pistol (CZ, SIG, S+W Sheild, SA XD, etc.) and see if she still has the issue. Pistol brass shouldn't hit the shooter in the face regardless of which hand you are shooting with. Might be worth looking at how she is holding the pistol if the issue persists.

What do you do when the steaks are ready? Do you just yell, “Hey, lunch is ready! C’mon over!”? Think

Ok, Ok... I deserved that one. Tried to go cheap and buy the parts piecewise to convert my standard bike to an E bike. In theory it was a great idea. Even watched a bunch of YouTube vids and it was easy... in theory.

$500 and many hours of trying to fit it up, splicing wires and $hit so the motor and the inverter and the controller and the breaks and the pedals and crap... play well together... didn't go as planned. Never claimed to be an electrical engineer.

Not to be defeated, I bought a new one. A complete package deal, some minor assembly required. Basic e-bike for like $600. It's Frankin' awesome. I can tool around town at 19.8 MPH effortlessly. The control unit has a govenor on it to peg out under 20 MPH per government regulations but I have the owners manual if I want to disable the max speed, guessing I could boost it to around 35 MPH but at the expense of battery drain. Max range on a single charge is about 20-40 miles depending terrain and how much you peddle vs the motor assisting you. Full recharge, 5 hrs.

Bought my son one for Christmas. He digs it too. I'm telling you, ya gotta get one of these.

I could ride it back to WI... 30 miles at a time with a 5 hr layover at each stop while I recharge. Or I could buy an airline ticket. United Airlines can get me there and back for about $180 round trip. Might even hook up with 8track while there (Warning: depart Boston on Jan 11, hang out for a week with the family, depart Green Bay Jan 18 return trip - if you show up at my parents' house singing some weird song while waving a rainbow flag again, I won't open the door).

If anyone wants peices parts for an e-bike... I have some sitting around.... right next to the acoustic guitar that I was gonna teach myself how to play.

Many genius' in history have often started projects and left them aside. So I'm right up there with Edison and Beethoven and stuff.

January 11-January 18. got it. A Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday would work best, if it helps you calibrate tight with the joys of family.

All E Bike chit given with brotherly love. I lack the technical ability and patience to properly inflate tires.

The do sound like fun. Any assembly makes me nervous. My Assembly Chart looks like this:

Assembly Required: Hard pass.
Some Assembly Required: When will my son be home next.
No Assembly Required: When it goes on sale, strongly consider it.

Most companies are doing that. Some call them Sticky Retentions. Not officially of course. Wear them down with a long process so they give up and stay.

Am going to have to run that gauntlet when I cancel my auto policy this month. Going to have to stare the devil beast I use to work for directly into their glowing red eyes.

Three weeks of gastrointestinal issues and time to get well. Lots of laying around. Haven't swam in like 3.5 weeks. Maybe just weather change. Maybe lifted or carried something too heavy. I dunno, Sht happens.

Snow continuing. Started last night. Should end mid evening.

First round of shoveling done. Dog walked. Got to figure out the results of a bowl pool- see how much I won/lost.

Next up, learning about sleep apnea.

How many times an hour can you Snore Yourself Awake while reclined before you may have an issue?

Or, a skilled blesser would get them in after each individual sneeze, even during a rapid fire snot-salvo.

Maybe it’s related to the extreme stress you experienced hosting a particular schitt relative.
But, then again, that’s probably not it at all…

Around the freezing point this AM and another trip south to the doctor's office - this time my appointment and probably the last with this doctor who will retire at the end of this month. Next PCP will be a female that I have yet to meet. No particular problems, just a annual check up and discussion of blood pressure.

Snow tomorrow here, but it looks like just for the morning and only 1-3 inches.

Looks like sunny and high 60 - low 70 for the next week or so. Typical desert winter weather. Wife and I are headed out for a hike on a trail we have not been to in a few years.

That is if my knee holds up. I have been walking 30-35 miles per week as long as it's fairly flat surfaces so most or our hikes have been on just rolling terrain but this one has some switch-backs up to a saddle. Doc who did my meniscus surgery told me four years ago I likely had six months to two years at most before I would need a new knee.
