Izon and the 22 year old 8track are practically the same person. Says what he thinks, when he thinks, filterl-less and not to many tastes. Sometimes passionately arguing a point they don't really believe in to mix things up. A lot of times, aggressively contrarian. Generally fun to be around, alcohol makes\made them funnier. Too much and people get scared. Interesting coon/cat.

Good Sunday Afternoon! It's 59° with a gorgeous blue sky and a later high of 70° today.

Spent yesterday at an estate auction, lots of equipment and hand tools, guns, two 1964 Chevy Impalas, and reloading equipment. The gentleman must have been an auction connoisseur and collector of pipe wrenches, new and old, they were sold off by the dozens. I didn't buy anything, my older son won a couple of small lots. Had a great time.

Today our next door neighbors are back in town, later today we'll be there for dinner and catching up.

Partly cloudy and breezy 72 today. Makes for great weather to watch the autocross as long as you keep up wind of the tire smoke. Wishing I could get more seat time. The fastest run of the day so far was a Tesla (they let anything run on Sunday only) but the big boys will be jumping on it soon.

Haven't been to a race track in decades so don't think nitro was being used back then. But I gotta say, the noise, smell and the vibrations at the track were sure adrenaline-pumping and once-a-week addictive for a spell. Too bad it was such an expen$ive hobby when you're only making $2.35 an hour at a part-time job!

You have pretty inflated opinion of yourself.

Pupper took a whiz in da yard and went right back to bed. I'll just fart around and drink a cup of coffee and see if he gets up any time soon. Or maybe I'll just go back to bed, too...fog

Got a quick thunderstorm move through yesterday (and Izon is passing through, conincidence?) while my littlest was napping. The thunder woke her up and she was like "WTF, make that shyt stop Dad." I said "OK, give me a few minutes and I will see what I can do. " Blammo, instant hero.

Shpo Talk.
-Nitrogen into tires is suppose to work in theory as the molecules are larger so they don’t escape as fast. The mechanic I talked with thinks it is a fad and doesn’t make a difference.

Friggen Aristocratic Ride of the Day: Unsure of the year, but had collector plates. Mercedes SLK 350 convertible. So low to the ground, was at a stoplight next to a standard Ford F-150. The Ford’s front bumper was slightly above my eye level.

Comfort Ride of the Day: 2020 Toyota Highlander. Bigger than I thought the were, but glided along the road. Which made me think of something.

Often I pick up parts as part of my job. Have done this gig probably 12 days since the first of the year.

Most commonly, I pick up Chevy parts. Second most are Jeep/Dodge. Third Ford.

Seriously where daytime temps can fluctuate up to 60 degrees, welcome to spring/fall in Texas, nitrogen does help stabilize tire pressure with less molecular change

Wifey 2018 Highlander...........me 2011 Tacoma

Those parts runs are exactly why we drive Toyota

BTW congrats on the new gig

Three brands of vehicles that I will never buy again. If I have any say, I will never by a GM or Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep product again. You can add Volkswagen to the list too.

Once bitten, twice shy.

Rain was blowing sideways about 25 mph. Temps dropped and got small amount of hail.

Oh and 8track, reason there are many Chevy parts is it's by far the most sold and used. Every time I look at an old Ford at a car show it has a Chevy engine conversion.

Work week over, but going back tonight for some double time and a half. Plus gotta make up the hours missed from my vacation before the end of my contract.

Gotta scrape up the money for the wife's new patio too.

49 degrees headed for 84.

Looking like a fishing trip to the Coronado Islands is on the schedule for Saturday... woo hoo! It's super early in the season, but the bottom fish are always hungry.

Going to be a rainy week here. Highs in the same 38-43 degree range. 60-80% rain chances through Thursday into Friday.

Whistle: You might be right (nitrogen in tires). We only get about a month in the Fall where our swings are 50 degrees. Do you go someplace special for them tp put Nitro in your tires?

DED: The ratio is ridiculously off though. Unless Chevy outsells Ford, Toyota, and Honda 8-1, what I'm seeing is different from your reality. And as dkeage & danm will testify, I'm not a Ford apologist.

Thing is, the Chevs are coming in just outside of warranty as well. It looks like exquisitely executed planned depreciation.

Well... it was only a matter of time before it happened. Thankfully it ended with no injuries. And now Tank knows not to play with coyotes.

I let him run around because he burns more energy chasing rabbits, squirrels and birds (he actually got a bird yesterday). He was running through the scrub chasing a rabbit and flushed a coyote. Immediately gave chase, and I yelled for him to come back. He caught it and took a bite, then turned to come back to me...

The damn sh*t coyote was sneaking up behind him for a little revenge bite, so I started running toward them yelling at the coyote. Coyote had his head down and tail tucked... but was still coming for a nip. He nipped Tank on the butt and then bolted. I leashed Tank and got a bit of video of the sh*thead coyote running away. NSFW language.

Tank runs around that meadow like he owns the place, tail high, and strutting. The rest of the walk he didn't stray far from me and his tail was down and he looked nervous. Hopefully he learned a lesson today.

Got franked over real bad yesterday.

I was on the phone with my car salesman trying to get out of my 2021 Accord Sport SE and into a 2022 Honda Accord 2.0T. Looked like it would happen without much more than $10/month more.

Then, a couple hours later, BOOM!!! I was rear-ended... with heavy damage.

Yesterday the trade-in value was $30-31k and my lease buy-out was only $24,700. So, even though the vehicle will be expertly repaired, that equity is erased because the car has been in a crash.

Poof... $5,300-$6,300 on paper- GONE IN A SECOND! BARF!

(Everyone seems to be doing well, except for my painful, contused ribs, which truly is the most important thing...)
