Tank looks intimidating. He's 62 lbs of muscle, bone and teeth. But he's very lovable, loves people, gets along with other dogs... and is scared of random sheit.

Get a package from Amazon? Throw the box on the floor and he'll bark at it until he gets the nerve to come sniff it and see it's just a box. He's a weirdo... scared of a box, but he'll chase a deer twice his size and won't back down if another dog challenges him, no matter how big it is... and thunder? Fuhgedaboudit... cries and whines when he hears it.

Stanley Steemer just finished cleaning about 1,500 sq. ft. of grout/tile and it looks just like it did the day the tile work was completed 15 years ago. Amazing!!!

Sadly, I have to root for the Chicago Bears to beat the Vikings. I'm not a fan of either but a win by the Bears will help my Packers get into the playoffs as a wild card.

Right there with you except I have (...choke, choke...), Josh Doubs as my fantasy football QB. Judging from the game so far, JD ain't gonna be passing for 4 tuds and 300 yards.

But, I'll gladly take the fantasy loss for a better chance of the Pack getting into the playoffs.

Rooting for Da Bears also means they'll be a little higher in the draft (...although they'll probably end up with the number 1 pick via Carolina...) if they pull off the road upset.

Burned a PTO day for tonight. Had 8 nurses scheduled, rarely do we need 7 so I'd just end up floating to another unit. But chit hit the fan today and they need 9. Someone else picked up the shift for OT and they asked if I'd come in at 11 to relieve a dayshift nurse staying over till 11.

I said they can call me at 9 if still needed.

Holy crap. Got the electric bill and it's crazy. The delivery charges and stuff are equal to the supply charges. I didn't really pay attention to it earlier but the rates have jumped quite a bit. It's not that I can't pay it but it seems like I'm paying for things that I don't use.

I get it, the transmission charges and the distribution charges... money to pay for them to maintain the poles and lines and stuff. I'm OK with that.

WTF is with these things?

Renewable energy charge... WTF is that? If I burned cow $hit would this disappear?
Distributed solar charge... I don't have solar panels. Why am I paying for someone or some company to install solar panels?
Electric Vehicle charge... I don't own an EV. Why am I paying for someone to have an EV?
Energy efficiency charge... WTF is that?

Sounds analogous to the mysterious line items on cable / phone services. d'oh!

On a different note, our Board of Water Supply approved an over 50% rate increase to be phased in over the next 5 years. However, two 10% increases are slated for next February and then July. Since they’re compounded, the increase are gonna hurt big time!

my least fave week-end is the first week-end of December...that is when the PITA Christmas lights go up. My wife took a liking to the faux icicle lights years ago, the ones with a thousand tiny bulbs per strand...PITA to check the 8-9 strands for burned bulbs and replace 'em before hanging them up...

how come none of the strands have burned out bulbs when I take them down, and then there are several burned out bulbs before they go up???

I just bought 3 boxes of icicle lights today. Our daughter might take the old ones and put them up in their back patio.

Speaking of Christmas stuff, my wife ordered a flocked fake Christmas tree from QVC but we’re still waiting for it to arrive. I’ve kept a low-key profile so I wouldn’t hafta take out and put up the lights but I know that day is coming soon….

I just got a couple of those projector light thingies. One of them has changeable cartridge so you can have different messages: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Let it Snow... etc... Put it in the ground, plug it in and point it at the house. Done.

Wife still finds a way to complain about it. d'oh!

You got me looing at ours closely with this info and yep we're getting tagged for the same Chit!!! Unreal... Things we don't use is right!!!

We've got a wind farm that went in about 3 yrs ago now to the west, we've got 5000 Acre Solar Farm going in right now to the Southeast of us and they're planning on putting in another wind farm directly south of us shortly and a substation less then a mile out of town.. Rumore has it all these high voltage Transmission Powerlines that zigzag through farmers fields transfers the energy produced to city's out East? (I don't have a clue how they register this travel distance on Electricity?) but I do know from science class in school "How much energy is lost/dropped in so many feet of travel" I guess these losses are what's calculated into everyone's surcharges around the globe? d'oh!

I dropped USAA years ago... I had added my kids on with USAA through their program for family's to join. insurance etc. well my daughter took out a bank account with them, then signed up with a CC'd through them a $5K limit.. she maxed that out in no time and then like her mother didn't pay the monthly's? Now My Name is no where on her CC'd at the time, but USAA started tapping my savings account for the Payments??? WTF!! I fought with them for a few months trying to get this straightened out almost hired a Lawyer... but decided to give them the Bird and move on!!! Brick wall Brick wall

Still enjoying the bumper season here. Days still in the mid-70s so haven't even turned on the AC heat yet. Usually can make it to about Dec 1st.

I got a new thermostat with the new furnace last winter. We always had the old one set 63 night 65 days and we wear sweatshirts long pants heavy socks it's fine. Lil chilly getting out of the shower but no big deal.

I kept thinking it feels too cold in the house. Yesterday I took my garage thermometer into the house because with the garage set at 60 it felt warmer than inside. Because it was. 63 on the indoor thermostat was 57 on the bulb thermometer. Explains why we turned up the ac to 82 cause it was too cold at 77.

Changed settings to 66 night and 69 days now it's more comfortable.

Halfway done with tamales. Waiting on a pot of lard to cool so I can make another bowl of masa. Should end up with about 4 dozen. Got 22 out of the first batch.

I think this is the 4th or 5th time making them, still learning. But this batch of masa turned out perfect. Whipping the lard and stock before adding the flour was the move.

When I remodel the kitchen I'm going to raise the countertop about 2-3" from where it's at. Just low enough to be slightly hunched and it kills my back.

These tamales are taking forever to steam. Coming up on 2 hours and the masa still isn't "set". Put another 30 on the timer guess they're just gonna be done when they're done. I wanna eat!
