Insurance adjuster came out. Right on time too. I was surprised by that. He said 0930, was here at 0925.
Anyhow. Looked at the ceilings in living room and kitchen, looked at the attic, looked at the roof.
They'll cover $1495 for drywall, plaster, insulation, and paint. "Roof looks fine" despite obvious (and covered) roof leak damage. Theyre willing to cover the damages from a leaking roof. But... The roof is fine.
I would've preferred "roofs old and worn, not covered" than "roofs fine"... it's obviously not fine if you're gonna cut a check for water damage from a leaky roof.
Whatever. Check for $495 and anticipate raised rates paying it back 100x over for making the call. At least I'll get documentation that the roof was submitted to insurance so I can put in for a hardship withdrawal against retirement account. They want repair quote from contractor and proof the repair was submitted to insurance with insufficient coverage to make a withdrawal. Hopefully they don't take the "roofs fine" to heart and refuse the withdrawal.
Edit: they want proof insurance says there's damage but insufficient coverage to repair... I might be fvucked on that plan... signed on for the 3 days off I had next week to work. Puts me at 15 12hr nights in a row but looks like that's gonna be my life for a while.
Just another page. Went pretty much as I expected.
