Public hanging...guillotine...electric chair...firing squad...whichever is the cheapest alternative. I've posted here ( A LONG TIME AGO!!!) about using such and putting it on PPV for the World to see. Make it a real production. Re-create the entire crime that put them on death row as tastefully as possible without glorifying the criminal...at all. Then after the movie let the victims and their families have their say or their words read aloud by Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones...whomever...and carry out the sentence. Fast track these bastards like Timothy McVeigh too. Use ALL proceeds to go towards the national debt after production.

You'll see people flying straight then.

Until then, there isn't a single freedom more precious than the 2nd Amendment. It's the teeth in the tiger. It keeps people scared and honest. Take away the criminal element part of by totally desensitizing it making it unworthy of any following.

I think you would see a change faster than removing video games, rap music and AR-15's!

I get the frustration but how do you figure we're teaching kids to stop killing each other by killing them?

That's just not logical.

Death penalty is not a teaching tool, it's a deterrent,,,,,,,all the future killers can see what the future holds for those that do kill ........harkens back to the Biblical an eye for an eye approach......The teaching should be done by the parents before they release their children on the world to kill.........I know before I started elementary school my parents had taught my siblings and I--- Please, Thank You, and don't kill your friends and classmates

I agree with some of what you say but I think unfortunately these shooters don't expect or care if they survive the ordeal. They're suicidal.

Never bought in to the deterrent theory.

Though i've never researched it if I'm being honest.

Huck, a lot of joking going on here. Not from all, but from most. I mean I said beheading. If I had been serious I would have suggested being quartered by horses.

DMV, I think that would give ratings a 10% or 11% bump.

supporters truly believe it to be a deterrent, but it has not been shown to be one.

Problem is, so many crazies commit murder that the common sense you use to not do so doesn't work for them.

and since most murderers know their victims, passion and out of control emotion (temporary insanity?) rule the moment.

Logical deterrents work for the rest of us logical people....'cept we know each other and both of us are chuckling.

I could go out, Kill 50 people and in most cases at worst get what 3 hots and a cot for the rest of my days. No bills, and possibly fame especially if I write a book. I have to deal with "hard core" arse holes every day so no biggie there. Medical is covered from heart surgeries to stubbed toes at absolutely no cost to me.

I have been in maximum security prisons before and honestly I know a lot people that intentionally break the law because life on the inside to them is better than out. The sole purpose of a lot of these people is to get back in where life is ordered for them.

To me this is illogical

Granted I would not want to see kids die this was a joke. But I do believe the consequences need to be more severe.

I can fix that...

New topic:

When the terrorists flew planes into the twin towers, did we blame the planes? We've had guns for many, many years. We had guns when I was in HS, and nobody even thought of shooting up a school.

Our problem is societal. We, as a society, have gone wrong. We've lost our moral compass.

Second mag was better, but Ed said I was cheating because instead of figuring out what I was doing wrong I simply compensated with how I aimed.

But I'm always compensating.

So, you don't subscribe to the theory of placing parenting on auto pilot and expecting day care through high school to be responsible for raising and parenting your children?

Wow, what are you thinking?

I get it, you want to be their friend.

School shootings might be the first issue that people everywhere on the political spectrum sincerely want addressed and solved. And immediately.

If no one is satisfied with the compromises that come out of squeezing out a deal/solution, but it slows down/stops the epidemic, it's okay with me.

When we had to give up old freedoms because of 9/11 and were harassed at airports etc, the result was better security and less loss of life.

It's gonna be hard to survive the future if we don't start compromising and coming together as a nation. Maybe we needed a common enemy for that purpose?

Globally we have Russians trying to destroy democracy.
Here at home we have our kids killing each other indifferent to how it's destroying us.

Imo, we could have used a great president right about now.
At very least someone who valued national unity.

I agree that Trump is lacking in the "National unity" category.

This makes two Presidents in a row.

And it shows.

Trump relishes division. If you don't kiss his ring he'll find an insulting nickname for ya.

Obama failed at it for reasons, many of which were out of his control. But not because he enjoyed pitting one side against the other.
