cheap(er) tires at discount chains are often very old.
make sure to check date codes on the sides...

I know a couple people who had tires from local Town Fair Tire stores that tore open on the sides...very dangerous

I think... since I've been sitting on my ass quite a bit lately... that 8.4 miles may have been a bit more than I was ready for. My damn feets hurt.

My mom is up to 8000 steps a day. Had a pedometer for a while, but grew fatigued with the constant recharging. Wonder how many steps MACS took on his plateau walk.

Mornin' - Some rain overnite and maybe showers this AM. Looks like e got a lot less than predicted. I think I'll pack the suitcase this morning and do whatever else is on the trip list that I can. Maybe I can finish the lawn this afternoon and plant the tomatoes my neighbor gave us yesterday.

I would give a rough estimate of 18,000 based on my experience

Happy Thursday fellas.

Doing the "3 dune challenge" with the wife, boy, and puppy dogs.

Basically it's a trail where you go up a dune, down a dune and repeat. I'm not a fan of hiking in sand.

3 mile hike done. Three dunes all about 200' elevation up and down in sand. Should've had a lighter breakfast, that was rough.

Now on to the day drinking and cigar smoking. Prolly take the dogs to the beach after lunch ifn it don't rain.

Forgot to mention we climbed the first dune, and had to turn around and go back down because wife dropped her phone at the bottom didn't realize till we were at the top.

Laying in the hammock with Nitecap in a cob and a Belgian Tripel.

Started the walk at 0930. Finished it at 1207. So, all told it was a 2 hour 37 minute walk. All dirt trails. That's a little better than a 3 mile per hour clip, which I think is pretty good for the route, since it has hills and such.

Puppy dogs and boy went swimming. Even though it's cold and grey they jumped right in for about 30 minutes. Then the park ranger came by and told us to get out, water's closed.

Yeah... nice thing about the Pacific Ocean? It's never "closed".

San Clemente Island is sometimes "closed" to fishing simply because the US Navy is bombing the sh*t out of it, and it's not safe to be around there. That's about 70 miles away in the open ocean and I really don't care to take my little skiff that far.

Cooked up a pound of bacon. Couple raccoons came to see if there were leftovers. Dogs didn't like that, but the critters seemed to know they were tethered and slowly sauntered off to the next campsite.

Cheeseburgers with bacon for dinner.

Last night here, back to work tomorrow so leaving after breakfast. Got a few beers left to work through.

Chilly day but at least it didn't rain.

New camper parked next door. Seemed like newbies.

They made dinner and left the table for some reason. An army of raccoons took everything.

Was a fun show

Lack of sleep is chipping away at my already fragile psyche. Stack onto that a 12 hour work day and a seven minute lunch, and I'm danm. Minus the money, and bad vehicle luck (knocking wood).

The lady neighbor and a child came back first. Wife broke the news and showed them the army chowing down in the woods. Neighbor wife rolled her eyes and had a dozen stories of the same chit happening before.

So, neighbor dudes not a noob, just an idiot.

I let the milly dog loose on the raccoon army.

Coming way too close to us, and I can't shoot em.

Got the dog back. Coons all ran up in the trees.
