Looks like something in the grasshopper family, maybe a Katydid. Not a great picture to identify something- green on green.

^^ Agreed. I'm no entomologist, but looks like a Hungarian Ganja Gobbler (Cannibus Devourus)

Morning, peoples. Happy snow covered Friday to those of you in similar climate. Standard happy Friday to the rest

If it's any solace, they had to break one of my wisdom teeth before removing it and the other three all at once. The biggest issue I had was the feeling I had when I when I took my first painkiller pill later in the day.

Thanks 8. I appreciate it. I'm actually not too concerned about the soreness after as I had a variety of orthodontic torture in my youth. I'm currently disturbed by my pending lack of a cigar for the next week or so and have this niggling memory of a coworker years back who had the reportedly rare experience of breaking his jaw during extraction.

The start of your bad weather is the start of my good weather. I paid my dues already.

It freaking embarrassing. I had one, it was almost an inversion. Holy moly. Frying pan

Other than toting the thing around, and being scared to death I was going to break something "in there", it was mostly a non-event until they took it out. Don't watch, trust me. d'oh!

We set the record in Green Bay for the most snow in October.... Evahh. 28 degrees currently. The good news is, only six months of winter left.

Victor,
Did you do the drunk bumbling on the bike?

yep, reasonably uneventful... other than it being 32F while I biked without a jacket wearing a tutu and running leggings.

I'm still cold.

The wife is a lightweight and we headed home just when it was getting dark, so I was only able to get so much alcohol in me. I suspect I was mostly sober still.

Normally, I would tend to agree... but the Optima has a turbo model that's moderately quick. Not G37 fast, mind you... but good for a Kia.

It's on THEIR dime, and they are paying for your rental. It makes good bidness sense to get that work done first and fast. The poor schlub who's paying for his car to be fixed just had another day or two added to his wait.

thanks Ram...three straight years of serious whole state is burning fire seasons...and it seems fire season is getting longer...especially bad when the wind is blowing and the air is dry, like now...

fire fighting resources stretched very thin, so we have to use inmates from the state prisons supervised by the state fire service to help fight the fires in central and northern parts of the state...

fortunately for us, some of the brush and shrub in the hills and mountains near us burned last year...so we are not in any danger...

We have two Kia's, A sorento and a Soul. Love them both. KIA is no joke on their warranty. My wife's Sorento radio died at the 6 year mark. They changed it out, gratis. Not a complaint.

Hard to beat that.

Weather warmed up a bit. Back to the normal 40° gloom. Most of the snow has melted.

And it's time to head back to work.

Chit, I have a '65 Corvette and the radio works just fine. No reason to take in in for replacement. Only problem is it plays Sonny And Cher tunes. d'oh!

Good point. Scotch, then pizza and Pinot Noir, then back to scotch. And about to go to bed. Probably related to the scotch, wine and pizza.

ThumpUp

During my college days (...”daze”...) there were a couple of years when I quit drinking beer and would order a large pitcher of wine cooler to go along with pizza. Often times I worked the next day, hungover like nobody’s business. Gonz

Can't blow the leaves off of the roof in the morning. They are frozen on. 90% chance of falling off and breaking my neck. Or, another head injury- like my brain could handle another concussion.

Heading to Appleton instead for a slice of Sal's Pizza and a cigar with a buddy or two.

Morning folks. It's about 6oF right now with a sunny high of about 82F. There is a huge outdoor art festival this weekend, which I hope we got to today, rather than tomorrow. Woke up to neck and back ache so I took a Flexeril. We have had record breaking heat for this time of year, so I am looking forward to a nice day outside during the first cool-off of the season!

Looks like I have to go old yeller our rooster. He's gotten too big and too aggressive. Attacks anyone that goes in the chicken pen except me, I've kicked it and whacked it with a board every time it tried me.

Got the boy a couple times and he's too scared to boot it. Wife's too gentle with her swats. Might as well just lop it's head off. Doesn't do me any good anyway

Glad to see you escaped the carnage that took place up your way, Ram.
F2 tornadoes are wicked . . . as evidenced by the videos seen on the local news.
My niece lives in Warminster, and she said it was pretty scary !

On a side note, re: Not being blessed in your "lower areas" . . .

Not a big deal having a bunch of strangers see your misfortune.
Imagine having your surgery in the hospital that you work in, and facing all the nurses that REALLY know you now ! Blushing
I realize that there would only be a few nurses in the O.R., but juicy gossip spreads fast !

I make them once in a while too. but from scratch, not frozen cauli crust pizza from the supermarket.
pretty easy, and though not real pizza, not a bad and filling version of it.

used to start with fresh cauli, cut the florets, pop in the food processor, but now just buy 10 oz packs of frozen riced cauliflower, the kind with no other ingredients. mix an egg or two, some (low fat) shredded cheese right in the crust, some seasoning and bake the crust for 20 minutes, add toppings, another 10 minutes in the oven...done. Sometimes needs an extra 5 minutes to firm up the crust though, if there's too much sauce and toppings usually.

I'll bring a couple to usgunner's and pop 'em in his pizza oven

Anxious

Even I think that is a little extreme.
