Good day for a batch of old fashioned beef stew.

Good Sunday Morning! It was in the sixties again this morning, on the way to 91° later today.

Not much on the agenda today other than checking out a neighbors house. He moved away to take a new job and has a property manager that rents his house. Unfortunately, someone in the property management company decided to let a wedding party use his house to dress for a wedding and have a party before the wedding. The guests blocked our street and got the attention of the neighborhood hawk lady who called me to ask what the heck was going on. I sent a text to my old neighbor to let him know. Turns out the management company did not notify him. and their contract with them has a much longer minimum length of stay. I suspect it was a friend deal that my neighbor would have never heard about if not the neighborhood hawk lady. Pretty damm cheeky to let someone use another person's house and leave a mess to boot.

I told my neighbor he should demand the rent for the minimum rental time, minus their management fee, of course. Then I'd fire the management company.

What's your take?

Yeah... fire and demand payment. 10x damages because they stole sevices (I don't know that's doable... Fenster probably does).

Just burn it down and collect the insurance on the house, get a good lawyer to sue for damages. Start over again with a clean slate, where ever he moves to.

People think they can get away with anything, make them pay big bucks 💵, or they will just do it to someone else.

Forgot I'm off tonight and slept all day. They wouldn't let me work my normal stretch cause "this is your holiday off" I said idgaf I don't want to break up my stretch of nights with one day off. Plus I'm going to Michigan Weds night or early Thursday and with tonight forced off They pushed my end to weds so fuggem I'm calling off that night.

There's only one thing they can offer staff to stay and that's scheduling. Being the most senior full-time staff, they don't typically screw with it but they hired a new third assistant manager and she doesn't get that.

Very boring, do-nothing day. It's too damn hot outside to go anywhere or do anything but stay inside with the AC on arctic blast. (it's 102)

Dog agrees. He went out to pee and immediately turned and came back to the door.

Sounds like frank and Drafter have some more business to attend to. With the way this is going, I might have to send them some coin to get them on retainer when my turn comes.

Belly full of beef stew, I see a cat nap on the near horizon then bang out my last weekly assignment before midnight.

Lousy day too wet for yard work, managed to squeeze in a cigar in and out of the garage. Didn't need to lose a day in the yard with only 4 left before our trip north.

Another day of debris cleanup. It was hot as hell today and no breezes to help keep things cooled off. Got the last of the big stuff up. A couple more wheelbarrow loads ands I’ll be able to mow and let the bag grab the rest.

It's supposed to be only 70F in Tallahassee tonight. Are you getting any of that cool down?

It went up to 93 today with zero wind. It’s going down to 73 tonight. Hopefully, will be a bit cooler. Or at lease a little windy.

Yes. Then again, in 5 months, the temp will drop 80-90 degrees. We enjoy what we can, when we can.

Tell me about it. 91-94F with intermittent rain and suffocating humidity here all day long. Then, thunderstorms boomed and dumped for thirty minutes. Even higher humidity.
So, I am staying inside with the a/c at 72F and the humidity at 23%.

Oh no, you say family don't pay but they might get "the look..." if you get "the look"... money can't repay the look.

Next level is the nuclear bomb: "I'm disappointed in you..." Might as well dig the grave.

"the look" supersedes any religion, race, creed, or color.. we all know "the look." Even dogs know "the look." Cats... well they just flip you off (pfft, yeah whatever) and go about their business.

In my next life I want to be a alley cat. My name will be Tommy.

Yummy.... but might need some Tums after they digest though.

Already finished a 5 miler in the dark, had a Party Short on the patio, wire brushed two chairs and the patio table and painted the table. I have to go get a new rattle can for the chairs and then the gym. Then it's nap and layabout in the pool the rest of the day. Cigar-beer-repete.

Went to go grocery shopping for the weekend trip up to Michigan. Gotta feed about a dozen people for 4 days and local grocer had some good labor day sales on ribs and chickens n stuff.

Got there and it was packed, and all the sale stuff was gone. Figured I'd grab some other stuff.on my list. Ground beef 70/30 was $7/lb!! The 90/10 was $11/lb! Whole chickens $3/lb, the tiddies were $6/lb. Screw that. Even pork was up a buck a pound across the board. Gonna stop at Meijers on my way home from work and get their sell by today clearance meats in the morning.

I left with a gallon of milk and nothing else. Went to Aldi. There weren't many parking spaces open. Said screw it. I'll just go after work tomorrow. I'm not dealing with crowds.

It's the most popular thing on my menu at Gridlife events. I get a few people coming to buy them on top of the ones I make for the staff I'm there to feed.

I dont do habaneros in them for that though. I've offered em on my chalkboard menu sign but never had any takers.

I do taters, bell peppers, sweet onions, plum or roma tomatos, chorizo, bacon or leftover pulled pork if I made some, eggs, seasonings and cheese. I do offer hot sauces - toss em in the cooler with the foil wrapped food for people to add if they want.

It's an "Old Fashioned" kind of Labor Day here...

3 dashes bitters, 1/2 tsp sugar, 2 ice cubes, 2 oz Elijah Craig and an orange peel twist.

Workin' on glass #2.

Birthday weekend for the lady went off without a hitch.
Loves her raised garden, 2 ft by 8ft and easier on her physically.
Saw mom, dad, sister and brother in law.
Earth Wind and Fire playing on the deck while drinking some beer.

Time to reload for a shorter work week. Doctor's appointment mid week.
