I'd work at WalMart for some extra scratch. Why not? If the wife decides she's done working she can take Tank to the dog park and I can get a part time gig.
Can't interfere with fishing... sorry.
Ya can kinda make your own hours. Tell them the days and times you're available and they fit it in. I'm pretty flexible and fill in holes where needed (that's what she said).
I currently like doing 2nd shift. Wake up in the morning, brew a pot of coffee, do my school crap in the morning then go in around 2 or 3. Get out around 11-11:30, do some more school crap, go to bed and do it all over again the next day. I do about 30-35 hrs/week of mindless work.
Hardest part is biting your tongue while dealing with stupid people. But as a former CO, you probably are pretty experienced in that skill set already. Benis are good. Those applicable to you would be the 6% 401(k) matching & employee stock purchase plan.
Those applicable to me are the ones mentioned above plus the free tuition. Roughly milking them to the tune of $1,100-1,200/month of free money (but I'll still have to pay Uncle Sam for some of it). The benefits that I get are more than my monthly take home pay on paper... I'm a poor college student struggling to make ends meet... I'm looking for your sympathy. The sympathy cards are in isle D4.
For those that say Walmart is making money and profit by paying a minimum wage and working profits off of the backs of the little guy, I say bah humbug. They offer opportunities that most companies don't, ya just gotta take advantage of them.
